| We had the choice of a Civil War museum
in town and actually going out to Gettysburg. Gettysburg being a driving
tour won out. Most of the photos are of the battlefields, more extensive
than I imagined. The visitor center had an amazing amount of historical
artifacts, could have spent two days inside it. On the first floor was a
movie synopsis of the civil war, on the second floor was a circular painting
of the battle which took a year to paint by a team of painters (no pictures)
so good that it was almost 3D. Darkening the room they would light up areas
of the painting as they narrated through the battle. There has to be
thousands of the memorials around the actual battlefields, people gps spots
that their ancestors served on and erected a monument on the spots. |
