Intro
Per the plaque in 2001 the central spot in Disneyland was dedicated to Disney and
his vision. Originally it was just a patio that was easiest to designate as the spot to meet at if
separated from your party.
They did a marvelous job, you can almost feel the Mickey is real and Walt IS showing him
a bright future ahead. Ringed in by several of his characters. He gazes down Main Street,
with Fantasyland behind him, Tomorrowland on his left, and Frontierland and Adventureland on
his right.
Yes, Disneyland made money but I don't feel that is what Walt wanted from it, as the
plaque says, "a place for parents and children to have fun TOGETHER."
And I think that was Walt's major cause, family and bringing family ties closer together.
